Letter to the Editor: Apology to School District is Due

The following letter to the editor is a follow-up to a letter written by Lee Weidner--and published on Hellertown Patch--regarding a donation of his book "Saucon Secrets" to the Saucon Valley School District.

To the editor:

My apologies to  administration are due for not remembering how many “Saucon Secrets” had been donated. to middle and high school level students and their teachers in order to understand what Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township folks contributed to the growth of America during any era.

For example, , and was there here an active Underground Railroad prior to and during the War between the States?

Self-promotion of the book is unnecessary as over 400 copies since 2010 have been donated to many local non-profit groups, so that each could raise funds for itself during the economic downturn by selling “Secrets” and using the money for its own well-being.

I believe that only about 10 copies remain to be sold in the Saucon Valley, and I have none to sell for self-gain. At my age I really don’t give a damn about money, but I do care that the treasure of learning local history be continued.

When one wishes to question the motivation of another, at least he should have the decency to sign his real name except for lack of courage to engage in real debate. Thank you.
