Local Misericordia Graduate Honored With Two Awards

A Saucon Valley resident was recently honored with two awards upon her graduation from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa.

Hellertown resident Abby Heintzelman received a Fine Arts Award at the college's annual Honors and Awards Ceremony in the Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall on May 22.

"The Fine Arts Award is presented to a graduating senior who excels in any of the non-literary fine arts and who has demonstrated a high level of academic achievement," Misericordia University said in a press release.

Heintzelman graduated from Misericordia with a bachelor's degree in business administration on May 19, and was separately honored at the Honors and Awards Ceremony as one of the school's top business department graduates.

According to a press release, "the Department of Business at Misericordia University presented the Mary Ann Thompson Memorial Student Achievement Award to Heintzelman. It is given to a graduating business administration, accounting or management information systems major for outstanding community service and academic accomplishment as selected by faculty in the business administration department."
