Obituary: Edward C. Garis, 59, of Allentown

Edward C. Garis, 59, of Allentown, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at his home in the arms of his companion, Kathy. He was born in Fountain Hill on Jan. 19, 1953 to Clarence E. Garis and the late Louise C. (Benner) Lipare and his stepfather, Louis T. Lipare. Ed owned and operated Garis Motors, Freemansburg and also worked for New England Insurance Co. He was a member of Ranger Rod and Gun Club, Coplay.

Survivors:

Daughter: Tessa R. of Hellertown; companion: Kathy L. Soldridge, with whom he resided; siblings: L. Scott (Doreen) Lipare of Bethlehem Township, Linda A. (Bernard) Stark of Easton, Jayne L. (Kenneth) Coutumas of Wernersville, Marlene S. Santana of Bethlehem, Thomas A. Lipare of Oregon, and Joseph L. Lipare of West Virginia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy A. Garis, who died in 2010.
