Photos of the Day: In Memory of Albert "Sonny" Reilly

Albert "Sonny" Reilly, who passed away in February, was a loyal patron of the Hellertown Diner. In his memory, his daughter Heather and her husband James Connell recently purchased and had installed a bench outside the diner's entrance.

Albert "Sonny" Reilly, , was always thinking of others.

So it was only fitting that his family recently donated an outdoor bench in his memory to the , which was one of his favorite restaurants.

Reilly's widow, Janet, explained that the bench will be a place for diner patrons to rest while waiting for friends, or if there is a long line that extends out the door.

"Now at least the older people can sit," she said.

The comfortable red bench, which was purchased by Heather Reilly and her husband , bears a plaque that reads "In Loving Memory of ."

Reilly was well-known in the Saucon Valley community as the owner of Reilly's Sawmill and as the "patriarch of Reilly Lane," a street named after him that intersects with Mockingbird Hill Road.
