Sun Glare Cited in Main Street Accident

Hellertown Police say a motorist cited sun glare as the reason she rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of Main and High streets.

Hellertown Police say a borough woman cited temporary blindness due to sun glare as the reason she didn't see a vehicle stopped in front of her at the intersection of Main and East High streets.

In a news release, police said Denise Becker, 59, was driving a Honda when she rear-ended a Toyota pickup truck after crossing through the intersection at about 4:24 p.m. on April 17.

Police said the initial impact caused a chain reaction-type accident, with the pickup then striking a Honda in front of it.
