Woman Makes Illegal U-Turn, Causes Accident: Police

Lower Saucon Township Police say Carol Krakowski, 67, of O'Briens Court, Lower Saucon Township, caused an accident when she made a U-turn in front of the Giant Food Store on Leithsville Road.

A Lower Saucon Township woman will be cited for a traffic violation, after police say she made an illegal U-turn and caused an accident on Leithsville Road (Route 412) in front of the Giant Food Store.

In a news release, police said Carol Krakowski, 67, of the 1800 block of O'Briens Court, "suddenly and abruptly slowed down to make a U-turn in front of the Giant."

Police said Krakowski's vehicle was struck from behind by a Bethlehem Township man who told officers he "did not have time to react to (Krakowski's) sudden U-turn."

Krakowski's citation will be for Limitations on Turning Around, police said.

The accident happened May 14 at 6:53 a.m., they added.
