'Birds (Hat)Boro' Holds Safe Super Bowl Celebration

Hatboro residents were out on York Road Sunday night to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles' victory in Super Bowl LIX.

HATBORO, PA —The borough has a new nickname for its celebrations of big Philadelphia Eagles' victories: "Birds Boro."

Once again, fans took to the York Road Business District to celebrate a major Birds victory.

Two weeks after filling the streets for the NFC Championship Game win, residents were out and about again Sunday night celebrating the Super Bowl LIX win by the Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

"Hatboro has been known for many years to be home to sports celebrations, and with the help of everyone listed, the borough ensures these celebrations are fun, memorable, and most importantly safe," officials said. "While the upcoming parade will not be held in Hatboro, we hope residents continue to keep the safety of themselves and other fans in mind when celebrating in Philadelphia later this week."

Officials said numerous organizations generously supported and assisted the Hatboro Borough Police Department throughout the Super Bowl celebration.

"Some are now calling us 'Birds Boro,'" officials said.

Officials said it takes a lot of coordination and planning for a major event like the Super Bowl victory celebration to ensure emergency services and staff are prepared to handle any issues that may arise.

"Thankfully, most participating in the festivities were on their best behavior which made for a fun filled celebration for all, officials said.

Residents should also notice, officials said that on Monday morning, York Road was all cleaned up with no signs that a large party took place on Sunday night.

Officials said its public works department "worked tirelessly into the early hours of (Monday) morning to ensure York Road remains in tip-top shape."
