The Horsham ATM, however, appears to be the closest AMT to the city and immediate surrounding suburbs.
The machine uses hardware from ChainBytes, which bills itself as a leader in cryptocurrency ATM software development.
Hippo Kiosks says it's a veteran-owned company based in Whitehall, Pa., that initially sought to serve cryptocurrency customers in the Lehigh Valley and in Lancaster County, but it has now branched out to other areas of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
"We strive to provide the best customer service and bring a Bitcoin ATM to every neighborhood!" the company boasts on its website. "We are happy to connect with local businesses interested in Bitcoin and Bitcoin ATM operations."
The company says that customers using its ATMs will not be required to buy a whole Bitcoin, and that prices at which the ATM is selling Bitcoin will be displayed on the machine at the time of use, since Bitcoin price is constantly changing.
Customers do not need to register online in order to use the machine, and only need to possess a Bitcoin wallet address and cash.
The company says that all of its machines are compliant with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.
