"Aleta was not only kind and loving but completely selfless. Aleta graduated from Temple and worked for Moss Rehab. Aleta spent her free time experiencing life and spending time with her family. She also spent her life making her community a better place by serving on Council, emergency management, public safety committee, Hatboro Library Board, Red Cross, H.E.A.R.T 911, and other volunteer positions. When she wasn't serving others, she was enjoying her happy place, Disney World. She touched so many lives in the time she had, and her genuine smile will be deeply missed by all those who crossed her path," her obituary states.
Family and friends are invited to Aleta's Life Celebration Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Decker-Givnish Life Celebration Home 216 York Road in Warminster.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at St David's Church, 316 Easton Road, in Willow Grove. The interment will be private.
The borough said Ostrander's family is requesting that donations go to the Alpha-1 Foundation in Aleta's memory.
Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1) is a genetic (inherited) condition that is passed from parents to their children through their genes. Alpha-1 may result in serious lung disease in adults and/or liver disease at any age.
The family asks that when sending donations and completing the form to make sure and designate the donation to research programs to help find a cure.
"This is something that Aleta would want, to help someone else," the borough posted on Facebook.
