H-H May Need to Make Up School Closure Days

Hatboro-Horsham School District was closed for three days as a result of Hurricane Sandy and the storm's aftermath.

The three days that Hatboro-Horsham School District was closed leading up to and after Hurricane Sandy may need to be made up before the school year's out, an official said.

Superintendent Curtis Griffin told the school board that unless the state offers "forgiveness days" the district would need to make up the days that the entire district was closed. Subsequent days in which individual elementary schools were closed would not require makeup days, Griffin said.

"The state may do something," Griffin said, adding that the district would probably not know for certain until May.

The issue of deciding on makeup days would be back to the board for approval in the "near future," Griffin said.
