Hatboro-Horsham Businesses Helping Feed Needy
A Horsham business will help the Warminster Food Bank, while two Hatboro businesses are giving away free turkeys.
HATBORO / HORSHAM, PA — With food banks trying to keep their shelves stocked and families struggling without SNAP benefits, several Hatboro and Horsham businesses are lending a hand.
On Thursday, Planet Smoothie in Horsham is holding a Dine & Donate event to raise funds for the Warminster Food Bank. Meanwhile, two Hatboro businesses are teaming up for a free turkey giveaway later this month.
Sherrell Cooper, the owner of Planet Smoothie, said the Dine & Donate event will be held from 3-7 p.m. at its location on 575 Horsham Road, Unit B-19, in Horsham.

Cooper said that during the event, 15 percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Warminster Food Bank to help support local families in need this holiday season. Planet Smoothie will also be accepting non-perishable food donations at the shop for anyone who’d like to contribute.
Pacitti Brothers Ice Cream and Coach’s Sports Cards will host a free turkey giveaway from 5-7 p.m., Nov. 24, at 107 N. York Road in Hatboro.

The event is open to the community and requires no purchase, registration, or proof of need. Turkeys will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“As local family businesses, we’ve been blessed to be supported by this community,” said the owners in a shared statement. “We know times are tough for many families, and every home deserves to sit down to a Thanksgiving meal. This is simply our way of giving back, from our family to yours.”
