Montco Residents Can Still Get Free Storm Damage Cleanup Through This Week
A crisis hotline for Hurricane Ida storm damage will close on Oct. 8. Affected residents can call for help between now and Friday.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Local residents affected by Hurricane Ida last month are being reminded that Montgomery County Crisis Cleanup services for any remaining damages will end this coming Friday.
Those in need of assistance with damage from the hurricane are asked to call 1-844-965-1386 now through when the hotline closes on Oct. 8.
Residents who call will be connected with volunteers from various relief organizations, community associations and faith groups who can assist with services such as cutting fallen trees, fixing drywall and flooring, appliance removal, installing tarps over damaged roofs and mold mitigation through homes affected by flooding.

All services will be free but service is not guaranteed due to the overwhelming number of folks affected by the flood and wind damage due to the rain and tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Ida in early September.
Individuals and business in some Montgomery County communities, such as Horsham and Upper Dublin Townships, were hit particularly hard by Hurricane Ida, which caused extensive damage throughout various areas in and around Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Some homes were damaged by the flooding and tornado winds, others were lost completely, and some places suffered in the form of downed utility poles and power outages as well as felled trees.
In Upper Dublin, a powerful tornado ripped off the roof of the municipal complex that houses government offices and the police department.
