Severe Thunderstorms Possible In Upper Dublin Twp.

The National Weather Service warns residents to be prepared for storms moving into the region on Friday afternoon.

UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA —A line of heavy showers and thunderstorms is expected to move into the region Friday afternoon, with some storms possibly severe, the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service of Mount Holly is warning residents about the potential thunderstorm hazards as temperatures are expected to continue into the 90s on Friday.

The primary risk from these severe storms remains damaging straight-line winds and large hail. Some heavy rain potential also exists which could result in localized flooding. Some localized urban and poor drainage flooding will be possible as well.

The entire area is at risk as the storm is forecasted for Friday afternoon into early evening, the National Weather Service of Mount Holly said.

Localized power outages due to tree and powerline damage will be possible with any damaging winds. If any severe hail develops, damage to crops, vehicles, and roofs is possible. If any storms produce exceptionally heavy rain, localized flooding is possible.

There is high confidence (60-80 percent) that the region will see thunderstorms on Friday. The risk for severe storms is 2 out of 5 (slight risk) over the Lehigh Valley and Poconos and 1 out of 5 (marginal) along the I-95 corridor and into most of New Jersey.
