Baby Fawns In The Grass In Lansdale: What To Do If You See One
Local residents have reported the tiny newborn deer, sitting alone.
LANSDALE, PA — As spring gets underway, white-tailed deer are having babies all across Pennsylvania. And in the Lansdale area's many green spaces, residents have begun to note the phenomenon.
Often baby deer — fawns — are spotted sitting alone in the grass. It's become a common enough sight, and apparently of enough concern to some in the area, that officials are reminding residents that it's normal behavior.
"While those tiny, speckled fawns may look lost or lonely, chances are mom is nearby, keeping a safe distance so she doesn’t attract predators," Lansdale police shared. "It’s totally normal for fawns to be left alone during the day. Unless the fawn is visibly injured or in immediate danger, the best thing you can do is admire from afar and leave it be."
