Bomb Threat Investigated On SEPTA Train In Montco: Police
Police officials said they were looking into reports of a possible bomb on the SEPTA R5 commuter line in Lansdale Monday afternoon.

LANSDALE, PA — Local police were investigating reports of a possible bomb threat along a regional rail line in the borough Monday afternoon.
The Lansdale Police Department said its officers were looking into the reported threat along the SEPTA R5 commuter train at the West Main Street Transportation Center in Lansdale.
Police said un unknown individual called 911 a little after 3 p.m. Monday to say he was on a northbound train headed toward the Lansdale area with a bomb and that he intended to blow up the train, according to Lansdale Police.

Officers in the area of the station evacuated commuters from the train and members of the Montgomery County Bomb Squad came out to assist with the investigation, according to police.
Lansdale Police said the incident is of particular concern given the history of incidents along the mass transit system across the nation in recent time.

"Threats such as these will be fully investigated, and anyone involved in this incident will be prosecuted," police said in a statement.
