Five Things to Know Today: August 3

1. Tonight is First Friday in Lansdale from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Performers include The Spinto Band at 8:30 p.m. and Juston Stens and the Get Real Gang at 7:30 p.m., both at Wood and Main streets. The event will also honor and celebrate Zeigler’s Apple Cider’s 80^th birthday.

2. Five bands perform tonight at an all ages show beginning at 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Lansdale VFW on Second Street, between Mitchell Avenue and Valley Forge Road. On the bill are Ladder Devils, Fight Amp, Wives, Pillars of Villainy and Ghosts in the Valley. Cost is $7 and must be 21 to drink.

3. will show “The Muppets” (PG, 103 minutes) at 2 p.m. as part of its Friday Movie Matinee

Lansdale Library also holds a used book sale from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in conjunction with First Friday. Local poet Veronica Henderson will make an appearance at 5 p.m. with her poetry books for sale.

4. Main Street (Cowpath Road) in Hatfield Borough remains restricted between Lincoln Avenue and Orvilla Road for water main installation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through August 31.
