LANSDALE, PA — Without community leaders, Lansdale wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

This submission comes from Jenn Foster, a Lansdale reader who nominated Kofi Osei.

What does this community leader do?

Kofi founded Towamencin Neighbors Opposing Privatization Efforts when our local municipality started exploring selling our sewer plant to a private company. He has led the effort to try and stop this sale. Kofi has worked to create a tremendous grassroots effort. Through two elections and a Home Rule Charter, Kofi has led the community with both grace and strength.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

As a young man in the Township, Kofi doesn't get nearly enough credit for the work he has done to protect his neighbors. I know I'm not alone when I say should be recognized for his continued efforts.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Kofi could be doing any number of things, including moving out of the Township. He's chosen to stay here and fight for his community. He has a bright future and the community is lucky to have him on their side.
