Harleysville Man Stole $484K From In-Laws' Business: DA
Over 6 years, the man used company credit cards for 3,908 personal transactions, altering card statements to hide the fraud, the DA said.

HARLEYSVILLE, PA — A Harelysville man was arrested after stealing more than $484,000 from his in-laws' family business, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said Thursday.
Christopher Oleksa, 36, faces numerous felony counts in relation to the thefts.
The fraud began in 2014, when Oleksa became the chief operations officer of the business, Firely Pediatric and Home Care Services.

Over the course of the next six years, Oleksa used company credit cards for 3,908 fraudulent transactions, and then altered the statements afterwards to hide his actions, the DA said.
In addition, he forged 21 business checks and made 16 unauthorized wire transfers from the business directly into his own accounts, according to authorities.

He in turn used the money in an attempt to start his own photography business, police said.
The owners of Firely Pediatric reported the fraud to Lower Salford Police back on April 13, when the investigation began.
Oleksa was charged with theft, forgery, access device fraud, receiving stolen property, and related counts. He was arrested and bail was set at $50,000, which he posted, and he was released.
He waived his preliminary hearing, and the case is proceeding to trial. A date has not yet been set.
