Hit & Run Vehicle That Killed Elderly Montco Man Located, Impounded: Reports
An 83-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in Hatfield Township late last month.

HATFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in this Montgomery County community have reportedly located and impounded a vehicle used in connection with a hit and run accident that took the life of an 83-year-old pedestrian late last month, according to media reports.
Hatfield investigators say a plea for public assistance in the case was successful, and residents brought forward video evidence that helped lead police to the vehicle used to strike and kill the elderly man back on Oct. 27 a little after 3 in the afternoon, the website NorthPennNow reported.

The police department has still not released the name of the victim.

Police had initially been dispatched to the area of Oak Park Road and Koffel Road for a call about a medical emergency.
Officers and emergency medical service personnel performed life-saving measures on the victim, but the man was ultimately pronounced dead at Lansdale Hospital following the accident.
Police subsequently learned that the man had been struck by a vehicle while he was walking in the area.
NorthPennNow reported that police investigators subsequently obtained videos and other information that led them to the suspect vehicle, which has since been identified, located and impounded.
The police department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the victim's death, and they are asking anyone with additional information or footage from the accident scene to contact police at 215-855-0903.
