With Influx Of 21K Doses, Montco Opening 2 New Vaccine Clinics
Montgomery County received twice their expected amount of Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week, leading them to open two new clinics.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- With an influx of vaccine shipments vastly expanding their capabilities, Montgomery County announced Wednesday that they will open up two new community clinics in Lansdale and Pottstown. Both sites will open on Friday, April 9.
Montgomery County received twice their expected amount of Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week: 21,000 instead of 10,500.
"With our increased supply of vaccine, we are finally able to expand our clinic locations," Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said Wednesday.

In addition to the Lansdale (Trinity Lutheran Church) and Pottstown (Bethel Community Church) locations, new sites are coming in the near future to both Norristown and King of Prussia.
The double shipment is a one-time occurrence, authorities said. Going forward, the county will continue to receive it's 5,850 doses of Pfizer and 10,500 doses of Johnson & Johnson on a weekly basis.

Officials expressed optimism that 1A could be completed later this week or early next week, and that 1B appointments, which opened for scheduling on Monday, could become available at that time.
As of Wednesday, about 42.8 percent of the eligible county population (over the age of 16) had received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Wednesday's announcement brings the county's total to five mass vaccine sites, including the existing sites in Willow Grove, Blue Bell, and Norristown. It will be seven, once the new Norristown site and King of Prussia open.
