Jefferson Lansdale Hospital Names New Chief Medical Officer

Jonathan Sternlieb is the new Jefferson Lansdale Hospital chief medical officer. He was also named associate chief of Jefferson Abington.

LANSDALE, PA — Jefferson Lansdale Hospital has named Jonathan Sternlieb its new chief medical officer.

Sternlieb, who was simultaneously named associate chief medical officer of Jefferson Abington Hospital, has served as an associate chief medical information officer for Jefferson Health since 2014.

"Dr. Sternlieb brings medical acumen, vast institutional knowledge, technical savviness and a thoughtful and keen intellect to his new position," Gerard M. Cleary, senior vice president of Jefferson Health - Abington, said in a statement. "I am very excited to have Jon as my medical staff leadership partner moving forward."

In his new role, Sternlieb will be in charge of managing medical staff matters, overseeing clinical services and administering daily clinical operations at Jefferson Lansdale, while he will also be providing support to medical teams at Jefferson Abington Hospital, according to the healthcare organization.

Sternlieb will also continue to serve as a clinical assistant professor of medicine for the Sidney Kimmel Medical College and continue volunteering his time working with underserved patients with gastrointestinal issues at Hartnett Health Services at Jefferson Abington Hospital, according to Jefferson.

Sternlieb obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985, and he did his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital.
