Former school board member Jill Dennin, a western Montco Democrat, won her party's nomination for the 24th Senatorial District.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Jill Dennin, a former school board member and longtime active community member, has secured the Democratic Party's nomination for Pennsylvania's 24th Senatorial District.
Dennin, who is looking to flip the seat after the upcoming retirement of incumbent Republican State Sen. Bob Mensch, won her race with more than 73 percent of the vote, according to unofficial election returns from Montgomery County.
Dennin was facing off against Emanuel Wilkerson, a 25-year-old Pottstown resident who hoped his youthful message would resonate with voters in the senate district, which includes parts of Montgomery, Bucks and Berks Counties.
