Lansdale Area First Responders Key To Capture Of Danelo Cavalcante
While Border Patrol, U.S. Marshals, and law enforcement from around the nation were called upon, local officers played a huge role.

LANSDALE, PA — The two-week long manhunt for escaped murderer Danelo Cavalcade will be analyzed and celebrated, decried and denounced for a generation. The massive coalition of law enforcement that joined the search included more than 500 agents from numerous agencies, including Border Patrol units based out of El Paso, Texas, the U.S. Marshal's Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and many more.
But as crucial to the capture of Cavalcante as the celebrated federal and state agencies were the local authorites, sometimes overshadowed in the media but omnipresent in the humid fields and steaming forests where the ground work of the fugitive hunt took place ceaselessly for more than 13 days.

"We honor own Tactical Paramedics Colin Hunsicker and Tyler Price for their bravery and dedication in helping to bring safety back to Pennsylvania today," said Laura Smith, Director of Public Affairs.
Hunsicker and Price were part of the group that was on scene Wednesday morning in the woods just off Route 100, when a heat signature was detected overnight and officers descended on the location in a pile of logs near a John Deere store in the morning.
The pair, along with the rest of the TEMS team, provides medical assistance to Montgomery County SWAT Central Region.
"These highly specialized providers work in austere environments, side by side with our law enforcement partners during high-risk operations in our community," Smith added.
While no officers required medical assistance during the capture, Cavalcante did. He was bitten in the scalp by K9 Yoda, who was dispatched to control him when he tried to flee.
