Montgomery Twp. Road Gets Squiggly Traffic Lines To Stop Speeding
A distinctive new traffic handling measure is in place in Montgomery Township.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — Montgomery Township has implemented a unique new safety feature on one of its local roads designed to reduce speeding: squiggly traffic lines.
The bizarre-appearing setup is so unusual that the announcement prompted skeptical and befuddled responses from some local residents who thought it was an early April Fool's joke.
The lines have been painted on Grays Lane. In the coming days or weeks, the township will also install delineators in the road center to help clarify the lanes.

"These traffic calming measures are being installed due to the numerous complaints/concerns we receive from residents about the 'speedway' Grays Lane has become," the township said in a statement. "Our highway safety officers and traffic engineers have determined that this is the best course of action for the area to ensure the safety of the local residents."
A police department trailer is on site at the head of the road to warn drivers of the new traffic pattern.
