New North Penn SD Superintendent Sworn In, Lays Out 100-Day Plan

Todd Bauer was sworn in this week to his new position as the superintendent of schools in the North Penn School District.

LANSDALE, PA — Todd Bauer, a former assistant superintendent of the North Penn School District, was sworn in this week to lead the suburban educational institution as its newest superintendent, and he simultaneously laid out his 100-day plan for the 13,000-student district.

Bauer was sworn into his new position by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Gail Weilheimer, and photos of the ceremony were posted to the North Penn School District Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Bauer, who has worked for the district since he was first hired as North Penn High School principal in 2015, released to the community his 100-Day Plan, which he says is designed to provide families with information regarding his goals for the district.

"We do not need to search very far to see that North Penn is a wonderful school district," Bauer wrote in an intro to the plan. "Our rankings in major publications for academic performances, the arts, and athletics are certainly a sense of pride for all of us. It is my pledge to you, your family, and this community that we will work tirelessly to move NPSD to places that we never thought possible."

Highlights of the plan include engaging community stakeholder groups, work with school board members in developing the district's comprehensive plan, prioritize the staffing of all employee groups, begin the community engagement process for the high school renovation project and build better community relationships.

Bauer was also recently interviewed for a school district video that was posted to the North Penn Facebook page. The interview took place on July 1, Bauer's first day on the job.

Bauer spoke highly about Curtis Dietrich, the now-former North Penn superintendent who was the longest serving chief administrator in the district's history.

"It was certainly a strange dynamic to see his car pull away yesterday afternoon," Bauer says in the interview. "I am really, really going to miss him as a mentor, but more than anything, to be honest, as a friend."

In May, the district held a farewell parade for Dietrich in honor of his years of service to the district.
