Pilot Injured After Plane Crashes In Montgomery Co.: Latest Updates
Details emerged in the crash of a small plane in Montgomery County on Wednesday.

FRANCONIA TOWNSHIP, PA — One person was injured early Wednesday night when a small plane crashed in Montgomery County, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 5:25 p.m. on the 700 block of Cowpath Road.
Authorities said the plane was a Weedhopper 277 Ultralight, a kit-built aircraft.

The pilot, a local resident, crashed it into the top of a tree while flying in the dark, police said.

He fell about 30 feet to the ground after the crash, according to officials.
When first responders arrived on the scene the pilot was "conscious and alert," and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
