Update: Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. — Because of a scheduling conflict, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro will no longer be able to participate in the event, but Jimmy Fox, the brother of the late Brad Fox, will be on hand to guest bartend.

NORTH WALES, PA — A local brewing company will have some special guests later this week when area police officials join together for a special night of law enforcement 'celebrity' bartending designed to benefit the life of a recently fallen Montgomery County police officer, as well as one who passed some years back.

A handful of police chiefs from the region, and even Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, are scheduled to guest bartend at Ten7 Brewing Company in North Wales on Thursday coinciding with the release of the 178 Amber Ale, which honors fallen Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox.

The Officer Brad Fox Foundation, which was formed following the killing of Plymouth Township K9 Officer Fox back in the fall of 2012, announced the special event later this week.

Fox was shot and killed by a suspect he was pursuing along the Schuylkill River Trail in the Conshohocken area of Montgomery County on Sept. 13, 2012.

Thursday's event will in part honor Fox, and in part honor Ryan Allen, a recently deceased Hatboro police officer who passed away after suffering an untimely medical issue.

Allen, who was also a K9 officer like Fox, had been hospitalized for months after he suffered cardiac arrest following an allergic reaction to a bee sting.

Allen's family had held out hope that he would survive, but he passed away recently after being transferred to home hospice care. He had suffered an irreversible brain injury due to lack of oxygen following his heart attack.

Those expected to be guest bartending during this Thursday's event are Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner, Plymouth Township Police Chief John Myrsiades, Abington Police Chief Patrick Molloy, North Wales Police Chief David Erenius and Warminster Police Chief James Donnelly, according to the Officer Brad Fox Foundation.

A percentage of the proceeds from the event will benefit Whitney Allen and her children.

Whitney Allen, the widow of Officer Ryan Allen, had recently given birth to the couple's second child while her husband was hospitalized.

Ten7 Brewing Company is located at 510 Beaver Street in North Wales.
