SEPTA Train Bomb Threat Arrest Made: Police

Police in Lansdale say they've apprehended someone who reportedly threatened to blow up a regional SEPTA commuter train.

LANSDALE, PA — Police in this central Montgomery County community say they've arrested the person who reportedly threatened to blow up a regional commuter train on Monday afternoon.

Lansdale Police confirmed to Patch that they have a suspect in custody, but that the individual's identity is not being released until after he or she is arraigned before a magisterial district court judge on the criminal charges.

Police on Monday afternoon said they were made aware of a report of a possible bomb threat that targeted the Lansdale-Doylestown SEPTA regional rail line at the Lansdale train station on Main Street.

An individual reportedly called to say they had a bomb and was planning to blow up the train, Patch reported on Monday.

On Tuesday, Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail confirmed to Patch that investigators were able to get a suspect into custody, and that the person was soon scheduled to be arraigned in connection with the case.

Members of the Montgomery County Bomb Squad also assisted at the scene of Monday's threat.
