LANSDALE, PA — Multiple individuals were injured following a shooting in this Montgomery County borough Thursday evening, and local police are saying the incident might have some connection to a June 6 shooting in Lansdale.

Lansdale Police said that the shooting, which occurred on the unit block of West Mount Vernon Street at around 9:49 p.m., appears to be a targeted attack and that it appears to be an isolated incident.

Officers arrived at the scene to find three adult men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and EMS personnel ended up taking all three victims to area hospitals for treatment, according to the Lansdale Police Department.

The men appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries and officials said they are expected to survive.

The victims told officers they had been shot along West Mount Vernon Street and then ran to the area of 34 West Hancock Street, according to police.

Officers canvassing the scene located around 10 spent shell casings in the roadway.

Police said a preliminary investigation determined that the men were walking westbound on West Mount Vernon Street when a vehicle approached, and the occupants began firing at the men from inside the vehicle.

The vehicle then fled the area at a high rate of speed. No arrests have been made as of this time.

The three victims are ages 18, 19 and 21. Two hail from Philadelphia and the third is from Hatfield Township, Montgomery County.

Lansdale Police officials say that the shooting might be connected to another shooting in the borough that took place early last month.

Police said that one of the victim's in Thursday night's shooting — the 19-year-old from Hatfield — was also a victim in the June 6 shooting and shell casings from both shooting scenes show consistency, police stated.

"A very concerning aspect of these two incidents is the absolute lack of cooperation by the victims with this investigation," Lansdale Police stated in an announcement. "During the investigation last night, the victims were purposefully trying to hide their cell phones from police."

"The reality is the perpetrators of these shootings are most likely known to the victims and others," the police statement continued. "We are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact police with your tips."

The department said tips can be anonymously sent to crimetips@lansdalepd.org.

While the police department publicly named the victims in their announcement, Patch made the decision to withhold the identity of the three individuals because they were victims of a crime and not criminally charged with anything themselves.

"While we do not believe there is a specific threat to the community, people who engage in brazen behaviors such as these create a dangerous situation for the [sic] everyone," police wrote in their announcement.

Lansdale Police said they were assisted at the shooting scene by officers from Montgomery, Towamencin, Upper Gwynedd, Lower Salford and Hatfield Townships, as well as other nearby emergency responders.
