Skippack Pike To Be Shut Down In North Wales For Rail Improvements

CSX Rail improvements will cause shutdowns of several key roads around Montgomery County over the coming weeks.

NORTH WALES, PA — Skippack Pike will be shut down later in October as CSX Rail, the continental freight railroad company that uses tracks in the area, continues repairs.

The closure will shut down the road in North Wales from North Wales Road to Mara Drive.

The 24-hour-a-day shutdown will be in place from Oct. 19 through Oct. 25, thePennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.

Drivers will be detoured to U.S. 202, Morris Road, and Bethel Road. Local access for residents will be maintained.

  • Main Street in Royersford, between First Avenue and Second Avenue, from Monday, October 20, to Thursday, October 23
  • Township Line Road in Norristown from Sunday, October 26, to Saturday, November 1
  • Germantown Pike in Norristown, from Sunday, November 2, to Saturday, November 8
