Traffic Cameras Installed On Route 422 In Montgomery Co.

The move comes just days after one person was killed in a road rage accident on the busy road.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Traffic cameras will be installed in numerous places along Route 422 in Montgomery County this week as authorities look at ways to leverage technology to help patrol and monitor the dangerous roadway.

The move comes just days after one person was killed in a road rage accident on 422, though the work has been planned for some time and is unrelated to the incident.

Officials say the cameras help them with "real-time" traffic monitoring, keeping drivers apprised of conditions and issues on the road, and helping with emergency response.
