$10K In Unclaimed Funds Returned To Pennsbury Schools

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —The Pennsbury School District has received $10,000 in unclaimed funds from Bucks County Controller Pamela Van Blunk.

Upon learning of the unclaimed funds, Van Blunk reached out to Pennsbury’s Chief Financial Officer Chris Berdnik to notify him. She said Berdnik filed the required paperwork for the return of the funds, which were then processed by the county Controller’s Office.

There is more than $1.6 million in unclaimed funds in the Controller’s possession, Van Blunk said.

She is sending notification letters to many of the owners of the older unclaimed funds over $50.

Van Blunk started the Unclaimed Funds Program in Bucks County just over two years ago.

Since its inception, Van Blunk has returned over $720,000 to the rightful owners.

In Bucks County, unclaimed funds consist of funds belonging to individuals and organizations doing business with or receiving services from the county or the courts.

Payees may claim their monies directly from the Controller’s Office via U.S. mail without any service charges or fees. Once the Controller’s Office verifies your application and documentation, the funds will be delivered in 4-6 weeks.
