Bucks Co. Bowling Alley Destroyed In 3-Alarm Fire
A three-alarm fire has destroyed the Levittown Lanes bowling alley early Wednesday and is still burning, reports say.

LEVITTOWN, PA — A three-alarm fire destroyed the Levittown Lanes bowling alley early Wednesday, sources report.
CBS Philly reported firefighters are still working to put out hotspots at the New Falls Road building at about 9 a.m. The road was closed as of 7 a.m., along with Amelia and Orchard drives.
The fire, which first broke out around 5:15 a.m., escalated to three alarms about an hour later, Action News reported. Firefighters fought to extinguish the flames in cold weather that was in the 20s.

The Pennsbury School District warned families there may be transportation delays Wednesday morning due to the fire.
"Please be prepared for transportation delays this morning due to a major fire on New Falls Road near PHS. Several surrounding roads are also closed at this time. We are currently rerouting buses as needed," a message to the school community from the district said.
The bowling alley was first opened in the 1950s when Levittown was still a young town. The host of many parties and get-togethers for generations, Levittown Lanes was a long-time haunt of many in the immediate area and across Bucks County.
One group of people who have frequently the popular bowling spot was the Pennsbury Falcons bowling team, who used the local lanes as a practice spot for years.
"Right now, things are up in the air for next season as far as where we will bowl," Coach Arnie Lautt told Patch via email. "Fortunately for us, our season is over and it will not impact us this year."
Lautt, who started coaching the team in the past year, says the Falcons used Levittown Lanes for years; it was a place that the team called home.
"Thankfully, no one was hurt, and our thoughts go out to Gail and Danny who took care of our team for many years, as well as all the other employees that are impacted [by] this tragedy."
There is no word yet on a cause for the fire. However, conditioner chemicals used on the bowling lanes might have fed the flames.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.
