4 Road Projects Underway In Lower Bucks Co. This Week
PennDOT is continuing Route 1 improvements. There's also PA Turnpike Bridge construction and a PECO project.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Four PennDOT road construction projects are currently underway in Lower Bucks County this week.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is working at night to repair the overhead bridge on Route 1 in Middletown Township under a $37.4 million project to perform high-priority repairs on interstate bridges.
The work is through Friday, with a single-lane closure in place from 9 p.m. to Noon and a double-lane closure from Midnight to 5 a.m. on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 underneath Interstate 295.

Other PennDOT projects this week in Lower Bucks County include:
- Trail Construction on Ellis Road in Middletown Township — Trail construction continues under a local safety improvement project. The work runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday with a weekday lane closure with flagging on Ellis Road between Fulling Mill Road and Woodbourne Road for stone installation and structure placement.
- PECO Improvement Project — PECO Energy is performing utility construction on Brownsville Road in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships through Feb. 27. The work is from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. During the construction, drivers will be detoured to Bristol Road, Old Lincoln Highway, and Route 132 (Street Road). Local access will be maintained.
- PA Turnpike Bridge Construction — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning bridge construction on Newportville Road in Bristol and Bensalem townships through Nov. 21. Newportville Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. During the closure, drivers will be detoured to Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.
