Middletown Township Spotted A Bear. Find Out Where.

Middletown Township Police said students are staying inside at two schools on Thursday out of caution after a bear was spotted.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are asking the public to beware of a bear.

Middletown Township Police reported sightings of a "little bear in town" in the area of Teal Drive and the power lines.

Police said that children in Maple Point and Core Creek elementary schools are staying inside for the time being out of an abundance of caution.

The community park remains open at the moment, but that could change at any time, police said. A state game warden is also on the way to help.

"Looks like the bear took off, and we haven't had another sighting in the past hour or so since this began," police said. We will be keeping an eye on the area, and if you do see it or catch it on your camera, let us know as soon as possible."

Police said they are getting a drone in the air to track the bear's whereabouts.
