Bristol Man, Attacked By Dog, Fires Handgun Into The Ground: Cops

Two victims were treated at Lower Bucks Hospital for bite wounds after a dog attack in Bristol Borough on Wednesday.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — Police and animal control are conducting an investigation after reports that a dog attacked two people in Bristol Borough on Wednesday.

The Bristol Borough Police Department said the attack occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. that evening. The dog jumped through an Otter Street home's screen door and ran toward Bath Street Market, according to their report.

The dog attacked a 21-year-old Bristol Borough man, police said, before crossing the street and attacking a 35-year-old Bristol Borough man walking there.

The second man fired a round from his handgun into the ground to scare off the dog, at which point the dog owner arrived and took control of the animal, according to police.

Both victims were treated at Lower Bucks Hospital for bite wounds. The second man's handgun was found to be legally possessed.

Police said officers, along with the Bristol Borough Animal Control Office, are investigating the case, and that charges against the dog owner are forthcoming for failure to contain and harboring a dangerous dog.
