Bucks Co. Mummers Ready To Strut Stuff For 2024 Parade
The Langhorne-based Uptown String Band is the county's only Mummers organization. They will perform in Philly on New Year's Day.

LANGHORNE, PA —"Sinfully Sweet Twisted Treats."
It's the theme for the Uptown String Band's performance for the annual Mummer's Day Parade in Philadelphia on New Year's Day.
Calling themselves "The Pride of Bucks County," the Langhorne-based annual participant in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade is a fully-volunteer organization with nearly 200 members and a history dating back to 1937.

This year’s 2024 Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia Mummers Parade will be broadcast on MeTV in the Philadelphia Area. MeTV is channel 502 for Verizon or 802 for Comcast. It will also stream on WFMZ.com and the WFMZ App.

The band has been practicing and preparing for months to get ready for their "Sinfully Sweet" performance. They even rented out an entire theater to watch the new movie "Wonka" to help them get into the correct mindset.
Uptown is scheduled 9th among the 14 string bands that will perform in the parade.
Last year's theme was “Safari So Good” with musical influences from The Lion King and Jungle Book.
"We are proud to be the only String Band/ Mummers organization in Bucks County and we want to thank all of our supporters throughout the entire year who helped make our performances possible," Uptown String Band leaders said. "We worked very hard and we are very excited to put on our show this year."
The Uptown String Band performs at functions in Bucks County and surrounding areas throughout the year. They've appeared on the boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J., and even at weddings.
