Bucks Co. Mummers Take 1st, 6th Place In Philly Parade
The Langhorne-based Uptown String Band, Bucks County's only Mummers organization, performed in Philadelphia on New Year's Day.

LANGHORNE, PA —The Mummers Parade has wrapped up for another year. But the Uptown String Band is still celebrating.
Uptown was the 9th among the 14 string bands that performed in the parade. The unit finished 6th among the performances at the 2024 Mummers Parade on New Year's Day in Philadelphia.
But the big prize went to Captain Kade.

Kade Radcliffe was voted the 2024 String Band Division 1st Place Captain. Click here to watch the video of the celebration.
Uptown thanked Captain Jimmy Good and the men of the Quaker City String Band for coming to Uptown to transfer the trophy to Radcliffe.

"Sinfully Sweet Twisted Treats" was the theme for this year.
Last year's theme was “Safari So Good” with musical influences from The Lion King and Jungle Book.
Calling themselves "The Pride of Bucks County," the Langhorne-based annual participant in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade is a fully volunteer organization with nearly 200 members and a history dating back to 1937.
The Uptown String Band performs at functions in Bucks County and surrounding areas throughout the year. They've appeared on the boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J., and even at weddings.
