Cameras To Be Installed At Falls Twp. Community Park
The Falls Township Board of Supervisors authorized an additional 12 security cameras to be installed at the park for safety and emergencies.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — The Falls Township Board of Supervisors authorized the addition of 12 cameras at Falls Township Community Park at their meeting on Monday.
The governing body voted 3-0 to award a $96,500 contract to Armour & Sons Electric Inc. to purchase and install a dozen cameras at the popular township park. This comes after a near-drowning at the park’s lake last year, as well as reports of a capsized boat in the same area.
These incidents and more have prompted talks of additional cameras around the park. Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence said Falls has seen "pretty significant instances" in recent years, something that can be prevented by the cameras, which will be utilized by local authorities.

Township personnel and first responders will have the ability to view cameras remotely, something Dence said "will be a huge help" in aiding authorities to determine specific locations of incidents, which could save lives.
"No one’s going to be monitoring these cameras 24/7," Dence said.

Back in 2019, Supervisors had cameras installed at Quaker Penn Park to make the area "a more inviting place for guests".
Supervisors Jeff Boraski and Brian Galloway were absent from the vote.
