Day-Long Crime Spree Leads To Man's Arrest: Falls Twp. PD
The Falls Township Police Department said a Berks County man stole a car and then a license plate, then robbed a bank, all in the same day.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A Berks County man stole a vehicle and then a license plate before robbing a bank all in the same day, police said.
Michael Todd Trumbore, 56, of Maxatawny, Berks County, was taken into custody on Monday after a crime spree throughout the Philadelphia region, the Falls Township Police Department said.
In a criminal complaint provided to Patch by Falls Township Police, Trumbore first allegedly stole a vehicle from a Philadelphia dealership. He then took a license plate in Lower Makefield Township and then robbed a township bank, court documents state.

The criminal complaint states that Trumbore went to Hessert Chevrolet in Northeast Philadelphia around 10:30 a.m. Monday and filled out paperwork to purchase a 2016 Kia Sportage.
He then took the keys and drove away before the sale was completed, the complaint said.

Over an hour later, Lower Makefield Township Police responded to a report of a stolen license plate at a Giant Food Store. A witness told police that a man matching Trumbore’s description removed a license plate from a vehicle and fled in a dark-colored Kia Sportage.
Shortly after, Falls Township police were called to a TD Bank in Morrisville on West Trenton Avenue for a reported robbery.
The complaint said that a man entered the bank at 12:23 p.m. and briefly moved around the bank before stopping at the bank slip station to fill out a form. He then approached the teller and passed her a handwritten note that stated, "I have a gun and will use it give me the money."
Trumbore was given an unknown amount of money with a tracker and fled the bank, court records state.
He was then spotted at 3 p.m. in Exeter Township where police conducted a traffic stop on a Kia Sportage bearing the stolen registration from Lower Makefield Township, court records state.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Trumbore and he was taken into custody. A large amount of money was also found by police, the criminal complaint states.
