Donation Drive, Special Needs Talent Show This Week

Take a look at what's happening this week.

  • A donation drive to benefit the victims of Friday night's fire at the Racquet Club Apartments & Townhomes complex has been organized by State Representative Frank Farry, the Red Cross, Middletown Township and local parent-teacher groups. Gently used clothing and basic necessities can be dropped off at Walter Miller Elementary School, 10 Cobalt Ridge Drive, Levittown on Monday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The items will be distributed to the residents later that night.
  • The Bristol Township School Board will hold a special meeting Monday at 6 p.m. at the administrative offices. The agenda includes consideration of hiring a firm to conduct a study that would determine whether a project labor agreement would be advantageous for the school district. The cost of the study is not to exceed $18,000.
  • Tuesday is the last chance for the public to try the Oxford Valley YMCA for free. Guests are invited to swim in the pool, work out in the fitness center, play basketball and more.
  • Approximately 40 students, aged between 6 and 14 and diagnosed with anxiety or autism spectrum disorders, will perform in a talent show at Neil A. Armstrong Middle School, 475 Wistar Rd., Fairless Hills, on Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The performance marks the grand finale to a summer program which the Bristol Township School District operates in partnership with the Delaware Valley Children’s Center.
  • Temperatures will hover in the mid-80s this week, with some showers predicted Wednesday night and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
