Falls Twp. Cop Accused Of DUI, Sleeping Behind The Wheel: Report
When an officer tried to wake him, the off-duty cop woke up and hit the car in front of him, according to an affidavit.
LEVITTOWN, PA — A Falls Township police officer has been charged with driving under the influence and careless driving, according to a report from Levittown Now.
William Tanner IV, 39, was charged via summons by the Buckingham Township police after an officer saw an SUV "noticeably far" from an intersection that didn't move when the light turned green. Tanner, off-duty, was inside with his head slumped down and his eyes closed.
When the officer awoke him, he crashed into another car that then rear-ended the car in front of it, according to the report. A test showed his blood alcohol content to be .214 — the legal limit is .08.
