Former Croydon Fire Company Captain Passes Away

Kevin Barlow passed away at the age of 58 after having devoted 41 years of his life to keeping his community safe as a volunteer fireman.

CROYDON, PA — The Croydon Fire Company announced the passing of longtime Captain, firefighter, and paramedic, Kevin Barlow, on Monday, Dec. 6. He was 58 years old.

Barlow had been battling cancer since 2019, which left him unable to work. A GoFundMe had been set up to cover his medical bills and daily expenses. The page wrote about Barlow's character and his career in the community:

"When most people were running away from danger, Kevin ran toward the fire or toward an accident, to save someone in danger; risking his own safety and sacrificing time with his family to help others."

Barlow devoted 41 years of his life to keeping community safe. A lifelong Croydon resident, Barlow was a volunteer fireman for Croydon Fire House for most of his life.

He also served on Squad 143 of Bucks County Rescue for 21 years, as well as acting as a medic for the last 5 years of his career.
