Langhorne To Honor First Responders Who Battled Raging House Fire
Close to 30 emergency agencies responded to the fire, which destroyed a twin home on West Richardson Avenue in Nov. 2024.

LANGHORNE BOROUGH, PA — Langhorne Borough will join Langhorne-Middletown Fire Chief Frank Farry on Monday night in recognizing the first responders who helped battle a raging fire last fall that destroyed a twin home and sent eight to the hospital.
The event will take place on Monday, August 4, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Jesse Soby American Legion Post at 115 West Richardson Avenue in Langhorne.
The residents of the two dwellings on West Richardson Avenue impacted by the fire will also be present to meet the first responders.

When the first responders arrived on Nov. 16, they found a well-advanced fire involving both units of a twin home. The incident ultimately went to three alarms. Fire crews rescued one unconscious resident from the duplex and numerous other residents were transported to area hospitals with burns and smoke inhalation.
Taking part in the ceremony will be the Langhorne Borough Council and Mayor; representatives from the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company; residents from the twin home, including the woman who was rescued; representatives from the close to 30 police, fire and EMS agencies who responded to the fire; and members of the Soby Legion Post who organized a clothing and donation drive for the two impacted families.
