FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — The Pennsbury School District's longtime chief financial officer is leaving.

Chris Berdnik has accepted a position with the Palisades School District, said Jennifer Neill, the district's supervisor of public relations.

Neill said the district will collaborate with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to conduct a search for a new business administrator.

Berdnik has served as chief financial officer since 2019. He was instrumental in the planning of a new Pennsbury High School. He previously worked for the Bensalem Township and Centennial school districts.

Two years ago, Bernik received Pennsylvania's top honor for a school business official.

Berdnik received the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials' (PASBO) 2023 Gary Reeser Memorial Award, which is given to an individual who has exemplified professionalism, leadership, and innovation in the field of school business management.

In addition to being chief financial officer, Berdnik also served as coach of the high school's award-winning speech and debate team.

He is expected to begin a five-year agreement on Aug. 18.
