Man Arrested In Chase That Hurt Falls Police Officer

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A Morrisville man was arrested on Thanksgiving morning on charges from the August motorcycle chase that put a Falls Township Police officer in the hospital for more than a week.

Christopher Troupe, 35, is charged with fleeing police officers, recklessly endangering another, reckless driving and causing injury to someone while not properly licenses, among other charges.

He was arrested Thursday, after police finished their investigation into the Aug. 22. police chase.

According to police, it was Troupe who was driving a motorcycle recklessly near a residential area at Penn Valley Road and Wheatsheaf Lane at about 9:30 p.m. An officer pulled him over but, while the officer was talking with dispatchers, Troupe took off again, police said.

Police followed him onto Rt. 1, where Falls Officer Jeffrey Rhodunda, who was driving an SUV, rolled over in the vehicle and hit a tree. It took 30 minutes to remove Rhodunda from the SUV, which caught fire, and he underwent multiple surgeries, spending more than a week in the hospital.

The fleeing police charge against Troupe is a third-degree felony. He was arraigned in district court on Thursday and was being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility.
