Middletown Township PD Mourns Passing Of Retired Detective
Detective David Strother Jr. joined the police department in 1997, serving the community in a variety of roles in local law enforcement.
MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Middletown Township Police Department announced the recent passing of a former detective, who served in the department from 1997 until his retirement in 2019.
Detective David Strother Jr., badge 4459, passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 49. He had served the Middletown Township community for 22 years.
In that time, Detective Strother served as a crash reconstructionist, a member of the motor unit, a decorated detective, a narcotics investigator, and an FBI task force member. He also served as a member of Levittown #1 and Fairless Hills Fire Company.

Before this, Strother Jr. served in the Army, where he was a part of Operation Desert Storm.
"Dave leaves behind an incredibly loving family and scores of friends in blue," the police department wrote in a statement."Please keep Detective Strother, his family, friends, and our department in your prayers as we grieve this major loss."
