Middletown Twp. Supervisor Anna Payne Dies

Payne battled cystic fibrosis for most of her life, Middletown Township officials said. She ran for state representative in November.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Middletown Township Supervisor Anna Payne has died.

The township said: "On behalf of the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors, it is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Supervisor Anna Payne."

Payne, 37, from Langhorne, courageously battled cystic fibrosis most of her life and stage four colon cancer for the past four years, demonstrating an incredible spirit, resilience, and positive attitude, township officials said.

"Her passion for Middletown Township and her advocacy for the community will not be forgotten," officials said. "Her kindness, dedication, and spirit will forever be an inspiration to us all."

Besides being a supervisor, Payne served as the executive assistant to Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia.

Township officials asked to keep Payne's family, friends, and colleagues in their thoughts during this difficult time.

Payne ran unsuccessfully for state representative in the November general election, losing to Republican incumbent State Rep. Joe Hogan to represent the 142nd Legislative District.
