More Than 300 Sought Aid On Day 1 Of Bucks Resource Center
Dozens of organizations were on hand to speak with and assist the hundreds of residents who turned out in Croydon Tuesday.
CROYDON, PA — Residents from Bristol, Croydon, and Bensalem showed up in force to the Multi-Agency Resource Center put on by Bucks County officials Tuesday.
More than 300 people had visited by Tuesday afternoon, county officials said. Some were there to report damage; many were seeking answers about aid in dealing with the disaster's impact.
“It’s very difficult to see so many people in need of help,” said Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia. “Their lives were uprooted. My heart goes out to all of them, and we want them to know that we will respond.”

As of Monday evening, Bucks County EMA had received around 780 reports of damage to homes and businesses in Bensalem, Bristol Borough and Bristol Township. Many residents at the resource center expressed concern about repairing damage to their homes — or finding a new place to live entirely.
Bucks County Director of Emergency Services Audrey Kenny told the Bucks County Courier Times that damage totals have not yet reached the FEMA threshold of $19.6 million to receive federal help. She also said that officials will evaluate whether or not there is an ongoing need for the resource center.
