Neshaminy High School Select Choir Wins Christmas Choir Contest

The choir won first prize in the 2021 9-12 Christmas Choir Competition, hosted by Station B-101.1 in Philadelphia.

LANGHORNE, PA — Neshaminy High School's Select Choir was announced as the first place winner of Station B-101.1's 2021 9-12 Christmas Choir Competition on Friday, Dec. 10.

The choir won the radio contest with their rendition of the song "What Christmas Means to Me". By winning the first place prize, the school's music program took home $5,000 and will have their song played on the station.

The choir's rendition will be on replay from Friday, Dec. 10 to Sunday, Dec. 12 on the radio station. A list of times was published on the station's Audacity page, along with the interview that hosts Jenn & Bill conducted with Choir Director Kristin Nichols.

"I have such a great group of kids," Nichols said in the phone interview. "They're great singers, but they're so nice. They are going to beyond the moon about this."

As first place winners, the choir will perform at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday, Dec. 15 with the Philly Pops.

Ridley High School of Folsom came in second place, taking home $2,000, and Council Rock High School North came in third place, taking home $1,000.
